Founders
Peter Algert
Peter Algert. Peter directs ACI’s research and implementation group and is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He has over 22 years of investment experience. His academic training is in applied empirical finance and he has extensive experience in the development of stock selection models, portfolio construction, risk management, and transaction cost forecasting. Prior to co-founding ACI he was a managing director at Barclays Global Investors, where he served as global head of equity research and co-head of U.S. portfolio management. Peter has also worked at Moody’s KMV and was a visiting scholar at the SEC. He has a PhD in Finance from University of California at Berkeley and BA Economics from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Kevin Coldiron
Kevin Coldiron. Kevin serves as the firm’s CEO and is responsible for the operations, finance and client servicing areas. He is also a member of ACI’s Investment Committee. Kevin has 19 years of investment experience and has previously worked as a managing director at Barclays Global Investors Europe where he founded the hedge fund business. Prior to this he was head of European research at BGI, responsible for design and development of stock selection and asset allocation strategies. He has also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Kevin has an MBA from the London Business School and BSc in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University.

Tom Esperance
Tom is the firm’s CFO and has worked with ACI since 2003. Prior to joining ACI full-time in 2005, Tom ran a financial advisory firm specializing in small investment management firms. He previously worked in real estate portfolio management at the Shorenstein Company and Bank of America. Prior to this Tom was a tax manager at Marcus & Millichap and a senior auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick. He has a BSc in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward.
Aaron Higgins
Aaron is responsible for ACI’s technology infrastructure and has worked with the firm since 2002. Prior to joining ACI he worked at meVC Venture Capital where he evaluated the technological feasibility of potential investments. He has also worked as consultant at Scient group and as an intern at Jet Propulsion Labs. Aaron earned a BSc in Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
John Keady
John is responsible for the marketing effort at ACI including client service and business development. Prior to joining ACI in 2009, John spent over 7 years with OFI Institutional Asset Management, a division of OppenheimerFunds, as Managing Director of Consultant Relations. He has over 16 years of industry experience serving in a business development role. John earned a BA in Economics from Kenyon College.
Andrew Solnick
Andrew works in ACI’s research group and is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He joined ACI in 2004. Prior to this Andrew was a research officer at Barclays Global Investors and a software developer at Intel. He has also worked in the research group at Goldman Sachs. Andrew holds a BA in Mathematics from Harvard University and an MA in Economics from Stanford University.
Steve Tchang
Steve joined ACI in 2006 and provides technology support and designs tools to support the portfolio management team. Steve has extensive experience in data management and data integration into financial software. Steve earned his BSc in Finance from San Francisco State University.
Xin Wen
Xin has been with ACI since 2004. She currently works in trade operations and assists the portfolio engineering team. Xin earned her BSc in Accounting at the University of California, Berkeley.
Bram Zeigler
Bram works in ACI’s research group. Prior to joining ACI in 2005, Bram worked at Schwab Soundview Capital Markets where he led a team of SAS programmers and built order flow and profitability models. Before that, he worked at Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. where he invented the concept for SuperMontage trading. Bram earned a BA in Economics from Dickinson College and an MA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.
